Kia Sportage Black Edition 2026: Price, Specs and Where It Sits in the Lineup

Kia has announced Spanish pricing for the special-edition Sportage Black Edition 2026 model year — €45,848 before discounts or incentives. The trim sits between the Tech and GT-Line versions, betting not on new hardware but on a combination of dark styling and expanded equipment.

The only powertrain on offer is a self-charging hybrid built around a 1.6-liter turbo engine and an electric motor. Combined output reaches 239 hp, drive is front-wheel only, and power goes through a six-speed automatic. 0-100 km/h takes 7.9 seconds, and top speed is 196 km/h.

The 1.49 kWh battery isn’t designed for extended driving without the engine running. It helps with pulling away, low-speed driving, and recovers energy under braking. Kia quotes fuel consumption at 5.8 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 127 g/km under WLTP — in other words, this is a conventional HEV that doesn’t need a plug or any charging routine, the same setup found on the standard Sportage HEV.

The Black Edition gets 18-inch wheels, black exterior trim, LED lighting and darkened rear windows. Inside there are two 12.3-inch screens, three-zone climate control, wireless charging, heated front seats and steering wheel, and ambient lighting. It also comes with a power tailgate, adaptive cruise control, a rearview camera and parking sensors.

The “Black” name doesn’t signal a sportier version, though. Power, drivetrain and fuel economy match the regular Sportage HEV, and the price premium goes mainly toward styling and equipment. The lack of all-wheel drive also limits the trim’s appeal for buyers who want a crossover for winter use or regular off-tarmac driving.

Buyers evaluating the Black Edition should compare it against a similarly equipped regular Sportage HEV rather than judging it by its trim color alone — the special edition brings no technical advantage of its own.
