Analysts at iSeeCars have published a ranking of the most durable crossovers and SUVs capable of surpassing 400,000 km. The study covered more than 174 million vehicles, and only 4.3% of them reached that milestone. Even so, a handful of models are far more likely to go the distance.

The clear leader is the Toyota Sequoia: 39.1% of these SUVs can cover more than 402,000 km — nine times the market average. Second place goes to the Toyota 4Runner (32.9%), followed by the hybrid Toyota Highlander Hybrid (31%). Together they showcase standout reliability and strong resistance to wear — a pecking order that feels entirely logical given their track records.

Lexus also lands in the top five: the body-on-frame GX posts an 18.3% share, while the hybrid RX reaches 17%. Both reinforce the brand’s reputation for building long-lasting, technology-forward vehicles, and the pairing suggests durability isn’t tied to a single formula.

Rounding out the top ten are the Honda Pilot, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon XL, along with the popular Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V. Analysts note that Japanese brands dominate the list, pointing to a balanced mix of build quality, straightforward engineering, and dependability — a combination buyers looking to keep a car for years tend to value.

The results ultimately confirm that Toyota and Lexus continue to set the durability benchmark among SUVs, remaining a global touchstone for reliability.
