In Maranello, Ferrari hosted a private preview of the technology behind its first electric car, the Elettrica. Beneath a red cover, the company presented a finished chassis with its battery and electric motor but no bodywork — a clear signal that the engineering core sets the tone for the upcoming production model.

The new Ferrari Elettrica is targeting a top speed of 310 km/h and at least 530 km on a single charge. At its heart sit more than 60 patented solutions and a chassis made from 75% recycled aluminum. The battery is integrated into the floor to lower the center of gravity, while fast charging is designed to replenish energy in a matter of minutes — figures that stake out an ambitious brief.

The standout feature is its signature sound. Ferrari developed a system that amplifies the electric motor’s genuine vibrations so the car carries a distinctly Ferrari character without artificial simulated noise — an approach likely to resonate with loyalists.

According to CEO Benedetto Vigna, the Elettrica is set to complement rather than replace the brand’s classic models. The newcomer is expected to cost no less than €500,000, with its premiere planned for 2026. Ferrari projects that by 2030, electric cars will account for about 20% of the lineup, maintaining the company’s philosophy of speed, emotion, and engineering excellence. The message is evolutionary rather than disruptive, with exclusivity clearly intact.
