Chevrolet Onix Activ 2027 Argentina: Price, Ground Clearance and Specs

Chevrolet has launched the Onix Activ 2027 model year in Argentina at a price of 35,043,900 pesos — positioning it above the base Onix hatchback while staying about 8.7% cheaper than the Sonic Premier crossover, an intermediate spot within the local lineup.

The Activ stands apart from the regular hatchback with more than just its body cladding. Engineers reworked the springs, dampers and tires, raising ground clearance to 201 mm. Body height grew by 61 mm to 1,533 mm, and length is 4,163 mm. Approach and departure angles are 19.7 and 28.1 degrees. The powertrain carries over unchanged: a 1.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 116 hp and 160 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic. Standard equipment includes an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, an 11-inch MyLink infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control, keyless entry, cruise control, a rearview camera and six airbags.

“The new Onix Activ adds a rational and appealing alternative to entry-level crossovers and SUVs to our portfolio. The efficiency, connected features and ease of driving that made Onix a success are preserved, offering customers a genuinely differentiated product with high perceived value,” said GM Argentina commercial director Andrés Carfagna.

Sales begin in August, with buyers offered four body colors. In practice, the Activ remains a compact hatchback with raised clearance rather than a full-fledged SUV. Its price advantage over the new Chevrolet Sonic is under 9%, so the final choice will come down to how much size and crossover-style bodywork matter to the buyer.
