BMW iX3 Long Wheelbase 2026: range, specs, charging and China launch date

The certified range of the long-wheelbase BMW iX3, which goes on sale in China in the second half of 2026, has reached 919 km, with energy consumption of just 13.6 kWh per 100 km. The figures were published citing China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, but they were measured on the CLTC cycle — in everyday driving the result will depend on speed, temperature, wheels and how hard the climate control works.

919 km on CLTC against 805 km on WLTP: why the numbers do not compare

A direct comparison with the European iX3 is misleading. The global 50 xDrive covers up to 805 km on the stricter WLTP cycle and uses 15.1–17.9 kWh/100 km, and in the Norwegian NAF summer test the same version managed 781 km on a single charge. The gap between 919 and 805 km comes not only from the body or the powertrain calibration, but from two different test procedures.

477 hp, 400 kW charging and a 3005 mm wheelbase

The Chinese iX3 Long Wheelbase has all-wheel drive and two electric motors with a combined 351 kW, or roughly 477 hp. Underneath sits the 800-volt Neue Klasse architecture. BMW quotes charging at up to 400 kW: ten minutes add more than 400 km of CLTC range, and a 10 to 80% top-up takes about 21 minutes. The crossover measures 4885 mm in length, 1895 mm in width and 1635 mm in height. The wheelbase grows to 3005 mm — 108 mm more than on the global car. With the second row folded the boot holds 1900 litres, and another 58 litres sit under the bonnet.

Huawei HiCar, Alibaba and Momenta: what was built specifically for China

The model also gets a Chinese version of Panoramic iDrive, Huawei HiCar services and a voice assistant running on Alibaba and DeepSeek language models, while the driver assistance suite was developed together with Momenta. Pricing for the long-wheelbase iX3 has not been announced.
