Dodge Charger Super Bee 2026: release date and what we know so far

Fifteen seconds, a swarm of bees and the lights of a drag-strip Christmas tree — that's all Dodge has shown so far of the possible return of Super Bee. It's not out of the question that the historic name will land on a new Charger, but the teaser itself shows no car, no model name and no specs. So talk of a production Charger Super Bee is still premature.

The official reveal date is set for August 7, 2026 — the day before the Roadkill Nights festival, which this year moves to a new venue at M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan, on August 8. Dodge has officially promised new product announcements at the event, and the gasoline-powered Charger Scat Pack with its 550-horsepower SIXPACK engine will headline the competition. The automaker hasn't directly confirmed that Super Bee will be one of the debuts.

The Super Bee name has been absent from the lineup for about three years. In 2023, Dodge built 1,000 Charger Super Bee sedans as part of the Last Call series — 500 in standard-length and 500 in widebody form. They were powered by a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 rated at 485 horsepower, paired with an adaptive suspension featuring a Drag mode and special drag-radial tires.

The badge itself first appeared in 1968 on the Dodge Coronet. Super Bee was conceived as a relatively affordable muscle car without frills, built around a powerful engine and a sharp focus on straight-line acceleration. In 1971, the name moved to the Charger, and it has resurfaced on special editions of the brand several times since.

The Charger Scat Pack looks like the logical basis for a new Super Bee. Its twin-turbo, 3.0-liter inline-six Hurricane engine produces 550 horsepower and 720 Nm of torque, and all-wheel drive can be switched into a rear-drive mode. The claimed 0-60 mph time is 3.9 seconds. But Dodge hasn't said whether Super Bee will keep this engine, get a HEMI V8, or simply turn out to be a styling and chassis package.

SPEEDME.RU previously reported on the expansion of the 2027 Charger lineup with Purple Haze paint and 420- and 550-horsepower SIXPACK versions. Meanwhile, in the US, the gasoline-powered Charger is covered by the Power Dollars program with discounts of up to $5,500, which ends on August 3 — five days before Roadkill Nights.

Ahead of the official unveiling, only the Super Bee hint itself is confirmed. The body style, engine, drivetrain, price and production run of the new "bee" remain unknown, and the teaser does not confirm a HEMI V8 return.
