Nissan NX7 (2026): what we know so far and how it compares to the NX8

Dongfeng Nissan has shown the NX7 for the first time — a new crossover in the Chinese N-series. The only technical detail that can be confidently identified from the official image is a lidar unit on the roof. The manufacturer has not yet disclosed the other key parameters, including the engine, battery, range, dimensions, price and launch date.

The teaser also shows split headlights, an upper light bar and an illuminated Nissan logo. CnEVPost speculates that the NX7 could get highway and urban navigation assistance, automated parking, an all-electric version and an extended-range variant. This information should not be treated as confirmed: Dongfeng Nissan has so far only announced the model name and its upcoming reveal.

The larger NX8 serves as a reference point. According to official Dongfeng Nissan data, it is offered in all-electric and series-hybrid configurations, with Max trims equipped with lidar. Dimensions are 4,870 x 1,920 x 1,680 mm, with a 2,917 mm wheelbase. Official prices range from 159,900 to 209,900 yuan (about $23,400–$30,700), with a limited-time promotional price of 149,900 yuan.

The NX7 will become the fourth model in the family, following the N7 electric sedan, the N6 plug-in hybrid and the NX8 crossover. Dongfeng Motor has said the 100,000th N-series vehicle rolled off the line on June 12, 2026.

SPEEDME.RU previously covered the N7, N6 and NX8 at the Beijing Auto Show. The NX7 remains a China-only model for now; no export or official availability elsewhere has been announced.

Based on the naming, the NX7 should sit a step below the NX8, but its real positioning will only become clear once dimensions and pricing are disclosed. Until then, calling it a more affordable alternative to the larger crossover would be premature.
