Toyota is gearing up to launch the ninth-generation Hilux, and fresh leaks have already revealed the cabin’s new look. Photos published by Kurdistan Automotive Blog show a reworked dashboard that lines up with earlier patent drawings and marketing materials.

The new Hilux adopts a stricter, more purposeful dashboard design with a distinctive teardrop-style instrument cowl, a large central infotainment touchscreen, updated rectangular air vents, and a dual glovebox. Built-in cupholders and upgraded trim materials are also visible. The layout comes across as cleaner and more practical, the kind of usability that tends to matter in daily truck life.

Back in August 2025, a leaked brochure outlined elements of the pickup’s exterior design. The latest leak completes the picture by revealing what to expect inside the popular model. There are no official trim details yet, but filings submitted to the Australian government indicate the Hilux will keep its proven 2.8-liter turbodiesel in both standard and mild-hybrid forms.

CarExpert reports that a new 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine is also in development, intended not only for the Hilux but for future GR performance models.

Toyota is expected to unveil the ninth-generation Hilux in 2026. The pickup looks set to preserve its reputation for durability while adding modern tech, hybrid assistance, and a more comfortable cabin to stay near the top of its class. The approach feels pragmatic rather than flashy—exactly what tends to resonate with Hilux buyers.
