DS has shown the compact electric F3VER concept. L’Argus links it to a future N°3, while the reported 2028 launch, sub-€30,000 price and STLA One platform remain unofficial.

DS Automobiles has unveiled F3VER, a compact electric concept that introduces a new design direction for the French brand. According to L’Argus, it also previews a future entry-level DS N°3. The biggest shift is in its proportions: instead of another tall crossover, the concept takes the form of a lower hatchback that recalls the character of the original Citroën DS3.

The history of the future model has been complicated. In autumn 2025, L’Argus reported that work on the next DS N°3 had been stopped, but DS Automobiles officially denied that a decision had been made to cancel development of future DS models. L’Argus is now again reporting on a production N°3 and expects it in dealerships no earlier than the end of 2028. The publication says the target starting price is below €30,000. DS has not officially confirmed either the timing or the price.

The manufacturer has already disclosed the dimensions of the experimental car. According to DS, it is 4190 mm long, 1840 mm wide and 1460 mm high, with a 2700 mm wheelbase. The luggage compartment holds 400 litres. These proportions differ noticeably from the current DS 3 and place the concept closer to a conventional compact hatchback.

The styling is also very different from today’s DS 3. A vertical centrepiece carrying the brand emblem, Y-shaped lighting graphics, a two-tone finish and three-dimensional rear lamps with a light-tunnel effect define the new look. Under its Design Intelligence approach, DS also aims to reduce the number of separate body components, simplify construction and improve aerodynamics.

The production successor’s technical package has not been officially disclosed. L’Argus says the future N°3 is being developed as an EV on the modular STLA One platform and that the most efficient version could offer at least 450 km of WLTP range. For now, these remain publication-sourced claims rather than official DS specifications. The manufacturer is currently presenting the design, packaging and broader direction of its future electric models.
