2026 Toyota Sienna Camper Conversion: Price, Layout and Features

A 2026 Toyota Sienna has been turned into a micro camper van that looks almost identical to a regular family minivan from the outside. Small Vans Big World fitted a 2.43-meter sleeping berth, a kitchen, a fridge and a toilet inside, while keeping one factory second-row passenger seat. A conversion at this level costs around $20,000.

The main part of the passenger cabin is taken up by a long couch with a 10-centimeter memory foam mattress. It doubles as a single bed measuring 243x61 cm. The customer travels solo, so the builders deliberately skipped a wider fold-out layout and used the freed-up space for storage instead.

A portable toilet and a 12-volt fridge are tucked under the couch. Across from it sits a small kitchen with a sink, a pull-out faucet, a microwave and a portable induction cooktop. Water comes from two removable 9-liter containers — one for fresh water, one for waste. A small separate tank with a heater delivers warm water in about half an hour.

A portable power station provides off-grid power. It can be charged three ways: from shore power, from the vehicle via a DC-DC system, or from a 200-watt solar panel mounted on the roof. The roof also gained a vent hatch, and an extra three-fan module fits into a slightly cracked side window. One important detail: the $20,000 figure covers only the conversion, not the finished vehicle together with the Toyota.

A new 2026 Sienna itself starts at $40,820 in the US. So a buyer starting the project with a brand-new van would theoretically be looking at roughly $60,800 combined for the “minivan plus conversion” package, before taxes and extra options. The exact unit shown here may cost more, since its trim level isn’t specified. The Sienna is a convenient base for this kind of project partly thanks to its stock hardware.

All 2026 versions are hybrids rated at 245 horsepower, and Toyota offers both front- and all-wheel drive. Claimed fuel economy reaches 36 mpg combined for the FWD version, making this compact camper noticeably more efficient than heavy motorhomes built on full-size vans.

The project itself isn’t a factory-built Toyota model: Small Vans Big World builds these one at a time, to order. The company says a similar conversion takes roughly two to three weeks once the vehicle is dropped off at the shop. The format’s main appeal stays the same — by day the Sienna barely stands out among ordinary minivans, and at a campsite it turns into a compact self-contained home.
