Hyundai STARIA Electric: price, 430 km WLTP range and charging

Hyundai originally promised up to 400 km of range for the STARIA Electric, but the production model goes farther: after homologation, the German version is rated at 430 km on the WLTP cycle. Orders are now open in Germany, where the nine-seat Trend starts at €57,450.

In the eight months between the world premiere and the start of orders, the official range increased by 30 km, or 7.5%. The powertrain itself is unchanged: an 84 kWh battery, a front-mounted electric motor producing 160 kW (218 hp) and 350 Nm. The 800-volt architecture allows the battery to charge from 10 to 80% in about 20 minutes at a 350-kW station under optimal conditions.

Germany gets three versions. The nine-seat Prime is priced at €63,650, while the seven-seat Calligraphy with separate second-row seats costs €66,950. Hyundai quotes energy consumption of 21.8 kWh/100 km for the Trend; a heat pump and battery heater are standard from the base trim.

The dimensions put it firmly in the large-MPV class: 5253 mm long with a 3273 mm wheelbase. The nine-seat version offers 831 to 1303 litres of luggage space and can tow a trailer weighing up to 2000 kg. The STARIA Electric Cargo, using the same 84 kWh battery, is rated at 450 km WLTP, gaining another 20 km without a larger battery.

Hyundai is electrifying the STARIA family in several ways: an 11-seat STARIA Hybrid is also being prepared for Thailand. In Europe, the focus is on seven or nine seats, 800-volt charging and the ability to replenish energy quickly on long trips — a combination that sets the STARIA Electric apart from most large electric vans.
