Hyundai i20 Sense price and equipment in Brazil: what the cheaper version may lose

The official starting price of the new Hyundai i20 in Brazil could fall by R$4,990. According to Autos Segredos, Hyundai is preparing a simpler Sense version for around R$95,000. The entry-level i20 Comfort currently has an official price of R$99,990.

The Sense is expected to keep the naturally aspirated three-cylinder 1.0 Kappa engine with up to 80 hp and a manual transmission. To cut the price, it will reportedly lose the multimedia system and rear power windows, while some exterior trim will be simplified. Hyundai has not officially confirmed these changes.

A second addition is expected to be the i20 Action with a 115 hp 1.0 TGDI engine and a six-speed automatic. Its target price is around R$115,000. That would fill a wide gap below the current turbocharged Limited, which carries an official price of R$125,990.

This is where the talk of a possible “killing of the HB20” becomes more interesting. In Hyundai’s official configurator, the current HB20 remains on sale from R$96,140. If the Sense really launches at around R$95,000, the new i20 would formally undercut it by R$1,140 on list price. Hyundai, however, has not announced the end of HB20 production.

There is another nuance. Hyundai currently offers a bonus of up to R$5,000 on the i20 Comfort when a used Hyundai is traded in. With the maximum bonus, the effective price can drop from R$99,990 to R$94,990. That means a future R$95,000 list price for the Sense would be aggressive, but not necessarily the lowest real-world price an i20 buyer could pay.

The Brazilian i20 is part of a broader refresh of Hyundai’s compact-car range. The European line-up is changing as well: the second-generation Bayon is already testing, with a launch expected in 2027. For the Brazilian i20, the next checkpoint will be the official appearance of the Sense and Action in Hyundai’s configurator, when final prices and the complete list of deleted equipment should become clear.
