Dacia Spring 2027: price, range, charging and specifications

The Dacia Spring 2027 has been completely redesigned while keeping its price below €18,000: the new generation starts at €17,900. The EV gets the RG-EV Small platform, European production, an 80 hp motor and up to 250 km of WLTP range. The official premiere took place on September 8.

Dacia Spring 2027 moves from China to Europe

Virtually only the name remains from the previous Spring. The new car is 18 cm wider, and production has moved from China to Renault Group’s plant in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. European production keeps the model outside the additional EU tariffs applied to Chinese-built EVs and allows it to qualify for support schemes tied to production location. According to Reuters, deliveries are due to begin in early 2027.

Dacia Spring 2027 specifications: 80 hp and 250 km WLTP

The technical details are now fully known. The electric motor produces 80 hp and 175 Nm, 0–100 km/h takes 12.1 seconds, and top speed is 130 km/h. Usable LFP battery capacity is 27.5 kWh, while claimed range reaches 250 km on the WLTP cycle.

Dacia Spring charging: 50 kW DC remains optional

Standard AC charging is limited to 6.6 kW: from a 7 kW wallbox, the battery charges from 15 to 80% in 2 hours 55 minutes. An optional package raises AC charging to 11 kW and adds 50 kW DC charging, cutting the same 15–80% session to 28 minutes at a fast charger. This is an important equipment limitation: buyers of the cheapest Spring will need to check whether DC fast charging is included in the chosen version.

Earlier, the key question was how much Dacia would strip out to keep the promised price below €18,000. The answer is now clearer: usable battery capacity matches that of the related Renault Twingo, range is rated at 250 km, and fast charging is optional.

Dacia Spring 2027 price intensifies the budget EV battle

The pricing contest in this segment is becoming especially interesting. The Citroën ë-C3 has already fallen to €16,200 in promotions, making it formally cheaper than the new Spring, but that figure depended on special conditions. Dacia, by contrast, is trying to keep €17,900 as the normal entry point for an all-new-generation car.

The biggest change to the Spring is therefore not its design. Dacia is changing the model’s formula itself: instead of an ultra-cheap Chinese-built EV, it becomes a European city car with a 130 km/h top speed, up to 250 km WLTP range and the possibility of 50 kW charging, while staying close to its previous budget price bracket.
