Li Auto upgrades the i6 with a 96-kWh 5C battery, up to 780 km CLTC range, new in-house chips and a Paris auto-show appearance as Li 6.

Li Auto has revealed the headline change for the updated electric i6: 780 km instead of the previous 720 km. Battery capacity rises from 87.3 to 96 kWh, an increase of almost 10%, alongside five other major upgrades. The China launch is set for October 28, while the Li 6 will appear at the Paris motor show on October 12.

According to Li Auto product-line head Li Xinyang, the 96-kWh battery developed by the company and supporting 5C charging will be standard across the range. The rear-wheel-drive i6 is rated at 780 km on the CLTC cycle, while the all-wheel-drive version reaches 710 km. That is 60 and 50 km more, respectively, than before.

The update continues Li Auto's push toward its own battery systems and electronics. The refreshed i6 uses the Mach M100 driver-assistance processor rated at 1,280 TOPS, while a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8797 handles infotainment. Li Auto says both chips will be standard equipment.

Everyday comfort also changes. The crossover gets adaptive ADB matrix headlights whose illumination range has increased by almost 30% according to the manufacturer. The powered front trunk can be opened by touch, through the app or by voice command.

Inside are two front Zero Gravity seats with backrests that recline to 150 degrees. A 29-inch 6K front display and a 21-inch 4K rear screen are also new. The second-row backrests adjust between 25 and 50 degrees.

The i6 measures 4,950 × 1,935 × 1,655 mm with a 3,000-mm wheelbase. The rear-wheel-drive model uses a 250-kW, 340-hp motor, while the all-wheel-drive version has two motors producing a combined 400 kW, or 544 hp. Exterior changes include a revised front bumper and semi-hidden door handles.

Geography matters as well. Li Auto has already started promoting the electric i6 in Europe under the Li 6 name, and its European motor-show debut is scheduled for Paris on October 12. The quoted 780-km figure, however, is a Chinese CLTC rating. A European WLTP figure, local pricing and market specifications have not yet been announced.

Chinese customers will be able to see the updated i6 in showrooms from October 11. Orders and test drives will open after the official launch on October 28, with first deliveries planned for early November. Li Auto has not yet announced prices for the updated model.
