Skoda has unveiled the 1000 MBX electric concept, a modern reimagining of the brand’s cult 1960s coupe. The newcomer joins the Icons Get A Makeover design series, which reinterprets classic models with a forward-looking twist, reports Tarantas News.

The original Skoda 1000 MBX was produced in limited numbers—just 2,517 units. The new concept retains the spirit of the classic while adopting a futuristic look with a 2+2 layout and rear doors that open against the direction of travel. The back seats can be transformed, and the cabin embraces a minimalist aesthetic. Center stage is a transparent panel that projects key data along with a map of the Most race circuit—an elegant way to keep the dashboard clean without sacrificing driver focus.

The electric 1000 MBX features air suspension with adjustable ride height, balancing a sporty character with day-to-day practicality. Though it will remain a render-only concept, it signals where Skoda might take compact electric sports cars by 2026. The heritage cues are clear, yet the execution suggests the brand is exploring how far it can push simplicity and a bit of show-car theater while keeping the car usable beyond the studio lights.
