Chinese brand WM Motor, which has weathered financial troubles, announced it is returning to the market. The company’s official page carried a note that good news was on the way and a teaser for a new electric car. It is the first official signal that production is set to resume after a lengthy hiatus.

According to the previously published “White Paper for suppliers,” WM plans to restart with the EX5 and E.5. In the first phase, the company aims to build and sell 10,000–20,000 vehicles a year, targeting 100,000 by 2026. By 2030, the goals extend to one million vehicles produced and revenue of 120 billion yuan — milestones that read as ambitious but structured.

The teaser of the new EV shows an interior with a floating-style infotainment screen, a user-friendly center tunnel, and a three-spoke steering wheel. The design recalls the current EX5 while adding more up-to-date details, suggesting a focus on refining a proven formula rather than reinventing it.

The company also said it plans to bring more than ten new models to market over the next five years, including electric sedans and crossovers — a broad pipeline that, if paced sensibly, could keep the name in play.

WM Motor’s comeback signals a second life for an ambitious startup that once vied with NIO and XPeng. If it follows through on its plans, the Chinese EV market could witness a high-profile revival of the brand, with execution ultimately deciding whether the momentum holds.
