Spain’s used EV market has clearly come to life: asking prices have eased, listings have grown, and many 2019–2022 models now offer mature battery packs with credible real‑world range. With a budget of up to €15,000, it’s realistic to find cars capable of 200–300 km on a charge and carrying very low running costs.

In city traffic, the standout choice remains a trio of near‑twins: the SEAT Mii Electric, Volkswagen e‑Up, and Skoda Citigo iV. Their compact size and frugal nature make daily driving effortless, while a 32 kWh battery delivers about 250–300 km of real urban range. When the route stretches beyond town limits, the Hyundai Ioniq Electric makes a strong case thanks to its aerodynamics and consumption that rarely exceeds 13–14 kWh.

Those who need more cabin space will look to the Nissan Leaf e+ and MG ZS EV. The Leaf e+ draws attention with its larger battery and comfort, though it is tied to CHAdeMO fast charging. The MG counters with strong equipment for the money and rising popularity. Meanwhile, the Renault Zoe R135 stays among the most practical choices, provided you steer clear of earlier versions known for problematic motors and batteries offered on lease.

Then there’s the BMW i3, in a category of its own—light, quick to respond, and notably dependable thanks to liquid battery cooling. With up to €15,000 to spend, the 94 Ah and 120 Ah versions are the ones to target; even years on, the i3 still feels like the clever pick for drivers who value character as much as efficiency.
