On September 8, 2025, IAA Mobility opened in Munich—the first truly major auto show in Europe in 2025 and another outing in its refreshed format after the move from Frankfurt. The event became a symbol of the auto industry’s reboot, drawing huge attention, with SPEEDME.RU reporters already working the show floor.

A defining feature of the new IAA is that the venues stretch not only across the exhibition center but throughout the city itself. This reflects the Mobility concept: the focus now extends beyond traditional cars to the transport of the future—electric vehicles, hybrids, and smart mobility systems.

Among the participants are leading brands: Audi, BMW, Cupra, Dacia, Ford, Hyundai, Mercedes, MINI, Polestar, Porsche, Renault, Rolls-Royce, Smart, and Volkswagen. Stellantis (Peugeot, Citroen, Fiat, Opel) did not attend, which became a talking point.

The headline premieres include the Audi TT Momentum 2.0 and Audi Concept C concept cars, the Cupra Raval and Cupra Tindaya sports show cars, the updated BMW iX3 electric crossover, the Polestar 5 electric sedan, the compact Volkswagen ID.2 and the facelifted T-Roc, the new Hyundai Ioniq 2, the hybrid Renault Clio, the fresh Mercedes-Benz GLC, the Skoda Vision O and Skoda Epiq concepts, as well as China’s Xpeng P7 and Turkey’s Togg electric sedan. The possible return of the Honda Prelude could prove to be the icing on the cake.

IAA Mobility 2025 showed that auto shows are once again becoming magnets for the industry. Yes, some brands prefer online launches, yet the live atmosphere in Munich brought back a genuine sense of occasion. Europe appears ready for a new round in the fight for buyers, and here—on the streets and the stands—the direction of the global car market is easiest to read.

IAA 2025 reaffirmed its status as Europe’s leading exhibition, and Munich cemented its role as the new capital of the world’s motor shows.
