Volvo has unveiled a new special edition, the EX30 Black Edition, a dark and expressive version of its best-selling electric car. The model is fully finished in Onyx Black, with not only the body but also the badges, brand logo, and decorative elements darkened. Black 19-inch wheels and painted brake calipers complete the look, which the manufacturer describes as combining shine in sunlight with strict elegance in the shade.

Inside, the cabin features Indigo styling—a deep blue-black hue with textile materials and inserts made from recycled denim, exclusive to this series. The Black Edition is offered in two versions: Single Motor Extended Range and Twin Motor Performance. In the UK, pricing starts from £40,060, approximately $54,000. This positions the special edition as an intermediate option between the base EX30 and the Cross Country off-road variant.

In the US, the EX30 was Volvo's most successful electric vehicle last year, making the likelihood of the Black Edition appearing on the American market high. Production for Europe and the US has been moved to a factory in Belgium to avoid tariffs on Chinese EVs, which also simplifies the potential launch of the special edition in other countries.

Volvo notes that dark versions consistently see steady demand, and the EX30 in this guise gains even more visual confidence and premium appeal. If the Black Edition expands beyond the UK, it could easily become one of the most noticeable and sought-after versions of the compact electric crossover.
