Jaecoo has unveiled its new flagship SUV, the 8 SHS, marking a significant step in the brand's European expansion. Measuring 4.8 meters in length, this model offers seating for five or seven passengers and comes fully loaded with premium features as standard. Following the success of the Jaecoo 7 and the launch of the Jaecoo 5, the company is boosting its presence with a large family hybrid capable of competing with models like the EBRO S900, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Volkswagen Tayron. The European lineup centers on a single Exclusive trim, which leaves little need for extra options. It includes a panoramic roof, 20-inch wheels, full LED lighting, dual 12.3-inch screens, a head-up display, a Sony audio system, leather upholstery, and seats with massage, ventilation, and heating—not just up front but in the second row as well. For the seven-seat configuration, there's separate third-row adjustment and additional comfort features. The highlight is the SHS hybrid system. Under the hood, a 1.5 TGDI engine pairs with three electric motors, delivering 428 horsepower and 580 Nm of torque. Power goes through an automatic DHT transmission with all-wheel drive. This setup allows a 0-100 km/h sprint in 5.8 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h. A 34.46 kWh battery provides up to 134 km of all-electric range on the WLTP cycle, earning the model a 0 Emisiones label for full access to zero-emission zones in European cities.Orders for the Jaecoo 8 SHS will open in March, with first customer deliveries starting in April. Pricing has not been announced yet; the brand will reveal prices closer to the sales launch, aiming to increase pressure on rivals in the fast-growing large PHEV-SUV segment.
