A Genesis G80 prototype with modified exterior elements has been spotted during road testing in California. The tests are taking place near Hyundai's research center in Irvine.

The sedan features a new radiator grille with an altered mesh pattern and a redesigned lower bumper with different air intakes. The rear section is heavily camouflaged. The prototype also rides on 20-inch wheels that differ in design from the Sport Prestige version but match the tire size.

Notably, the body has a two-tone paint job: the lower section is finished in a contrasting shade, an option previously unavailable for the G80. This could signal the arrival of a more luxurious trim level. Alternatively, it might be part of another facelift for the model.

The current G80 debuted on the Korean market in 2023, with the 2025 update bringing design and technology changes. If this is indeed a new facelift, its debut could happen around 2027.

The Genesis G80 remains the brand's flagship sedan and ranks among the best-equipped and most technologically advanced passenger cars in the premium segment. The company has yet to provide official comments regarding this prototype version.
