Chevrolet is facing supply constraints for the 3.0 I6 LZ0 Duramax diesel engine in the 2026 Tahoe and Suburban models. According to sources, the powertrain is temporarily unavailable for LT and High Country trims. For RST, Z71, and Premier versions, production with this engine is limited to 20% of the planned volume. This second-generation inline-six turbo diesel Duramax replaced the LM2 in 2023. It produces 305 horsepower, a 10% increase over its predecessor, and 671 Nm of torque, which is 7.6% higher. The high torque makes this option popular among buyers who prioritize towing capability and efficiency. In addition to the diesel, the Tahoe and Suburban continue to be offered with naturally aspirated 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V8 gasoline engines. All versions are built on the GM T1 platform and manufactured at the Arlington, Texas plant. These constraints affect some of Chevrolet's top 2026 SUVs, which could impact delivery timelines for customers who choose the diesel variant.
