Geely has announced it will begin sales in Spain in the first half of 2026. The Chinese conglomerate, already present in the country through Volvo, Polestar, and LEVC, is now entering with its own brand, targeting the mass-market SUV segment.

The first models will be the electric C-SUV E5 and the plug-in hybrid D-SUV Starray EM-i. The E5 features an electric motor with 218 horsepower and battery options of 60.22 or 68.79 kWh. Its maximum range reaches 475 km on the WLTP cycle, and charging from 30% to 80% takes about 20 minutes. Competitors include the Skoda Elroq and Enyaq.

The Starray EM-i offers a combined output of 262 horsepower and battery capacities of 18.4 or 29.8 kWh. Its total range reaches 943 km WLTP. The internal combustion engine for this model is supplied by Horse PowerTrain—a joint venture between Geely and Renault, which underscores the project's European integration.

Geely's launch coincides with the rollout of the premium brand Zeekr. While Geely will occupy the mass segment with a multi-energy lineup, Zeekr will focus on premium electric vehicles. For the Spanish market, this means increased competition in the SUV class and a further expansion of Chinese manufacturers' presence in Europe.
