Mitsubishi is preparing its second production electric vehicle, and it appears to be based on the new Nissan Leaf. A camouflaged prototype has already been spotted during testing, with its silhouette and body proportions clearly identifying it as a Leaf, including its distinctive roofline, according to a report from 32CARS.RU.

However, the exterior has been adapted to Mitsubishi's signature style. The crossover features original headlights with multiple light elements, a redesigned front bumper, and its own taillight graphics. The look is completed by three-spoke wheels, a recognizable brand detail.

Technically, the vehicle is likely to fully mirror the 2026 Leaf. In the US, that model comes with an electric motor producing 214 horsepower and 354 Nm of torque, while a 75 kWh battery provides a range of up to 488 km according to the American test cycle.

The expected price is around $30,000, which could make the newcomer a potentially affordable option. The model name has not been revealed yet. It is suggested that Mitsubishi might revive one of its historical names, fitting the electric crossover into the brand's new strategy focused on platform unification and cost reduction.

This approach is a logical step in an era of expensive development. Unifying with Nissan allows Mitsubishi to quickly expand its electric vehicle lineup without massive investments. If the price remains competitive, the model could strengthen the brand's position in the urban segment.
