Technical specifications for the next-generation BMW X5, codenamed G65, have surfaced online. According to the leak, production will begin in August 2026, with the model's lifecycle extending until July 2035.The new X5 will be slightly larger than the current G05 generation. Its length will grow to 5,000 mm—an increase of 6 mm—while the wheelbase expands by 6 mm to 3,035 mm. At the same time, the model will become a bit lower and slightly narrower. Ground clearance will rise to 226 mm.The base 40 xDrive version will feature an updated 3.0-liter inline-six turbocharged B58 engine producing 394 horsepower and 398 Nm of torque, paired with a mild-hybrid system. The electric motor will add around 17 horsepower.The lineup is expected to expand later with plug-in hybrids like the 50e xDrive and M60e xDrive, along with the fully electric iX5 60 xDrive. Further down the line, versions such as the M60 xDrive, iX5 50 xDrive, and iX5 M70 xDrive will arrive. This move highlights BMW's commitment to a broad range of powertrains, spanning from conventional internal combustion engines to fully electric solutions.The leak confirms BMW's strategy of maintaining a multi-format approach: the next-generation X5 won't abandon internal combustion engines while strengthening its hybrid and electric offerings.
