Mercedes-Benz Japan has launched a new limited edition of the Mercedes-AMG G 63 called the Edition Performance, with only 150 units available starting at 34.4 million yen. This special version focuses on striking visual appeal and enhanced dynamic capabilities, reinforcing the flagship status of the AMG variant of the legendary SUV.The key distinction lies in three exclusive MANUFAKTUR colors: Sun Yellow, Green Hell Magno, and Copper Orange Magno, each available solely for this series. The exterior is further enhanced by matte-gold 22-inch AMG forged wheels, black brake calipers, and AMG Night Package I and II, which give emblems, trim, exhaust, and body elements a glossy black finish. Carbon panels on the bumper, side skirts, underbody protection, and spare wheel cover add visual weight and sportiness.Inside, the cabin echoes the exterior theme with carbon fiber accents, a unique AMG Performance steering wheel made of carbon and Microcut, and seats in the popular Platinum White shade, creating contrast with dark decorative elements.The Edition Performance marks the first Japanese G 63 series to receive the AMG Performance Package, which increases the top speed from 220 to 240 km/h and adds a RACE START function for optimal launches. Under the hood sits a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo M177 engine, assembled according to the "One Man, One Engine" principle.
