Kia has announced that it is now accepting orders for the updated Niro crossover. The model is based on the second generation introduced in 2022 and features a range of improvements in design, equipment, and technology.

The hybrid crossover is powered by a 1.6-liter engine. The total system output is 141 horsepower, with a maximum torque of 265 Nm. Its average fuel consumption reaches 4.95 liters per 100 kilometers, which is considered one of the best figures in its class.

The Niro sports a refreshed exterior design following the Opposites United concept. Up front, it features Star Map LED daytime running lights, while the rear incorporates new LED taillights. Inside, the cabin adopts a horizontal dashboard architecture and is equipped with a panoramic curved display that combines two 12.3-inch screens.

In practice, this means the crossover comes with an expanded list of technologies. These include over-the-air software updates, a second-generation digital key, a Stay Mode function, and an e-Hi-Pass system for paying tolls without a physical card.

Standard equipment includes ten airbags, enhanced driver assistance systems, and an updated ADAS suite with lane-keeping assist and collision avoidance. The vehicle also features adaptive regenerative braking functions and an energy consumption prediction system.

Pricing in its home market starts at 28.85 million Korean won (€16,836) after tax incentives. Given its high efficiency and modern technology, the Niro is positioned as one of the most economical options among compact hybrid crossovers.
