Lucid has unveiled two new electric crossovers—the Cosmos and Earth. These are the first models built on the new Midsize EV platform, with production expected to begin very soon.

The main highlight of these new vehicles will be their more accessible price point. According to the company, pricing will start below $50,000, making them nearly half the cost of current Lucid Air and Gravity models.

Despite the lower price, Lucid promises to retain its key brand advantages: high efficiency, long range, and comfort. Both the Cosmos and Earth will share the same platform but target different buyer categories. The Cosmos focuses on efficiency, space, and dynamics, while the Earth adopts a more adventurous character.

The Cosmos will offer a range of about 300 miles (approximately 480 km) from its 69 kWh battery. Fast charging capability will restore over 200 miles of range in roughly 14 minutes.

This new platform also delivers impressive energy efficiency—around 4.5 miles per kWh—outperforming many current electric crossovers. An additional benefit is bidirectional charging support, including Vehicle-to-Home and Vehicle-to-Vehicle functionality.

The cost reduction was made possible by the new Atlas electric motor. It's lighter and more compact than the previous Zeus unit, uses 30% fewer parts, and helps cut production costs by approximately 37%.

These new models should help Lucid enter a more mainstream segment of the electric vehicle market and boost brand sales.
