Nissan Motor and Nissan Motorsports & Customizing have announced that the new Patrol NISMO will serve as the safety car for the 2026 Super GT season. This debut will take place at the series' opening round at Okayama International Circuit, with a handover ceremony scheduled for race day on April 12.

Safety cars play a critical role in motorsport, enabling the rapid and secure transport of drivers, medical personnel, and rescue teams to incident sites.

Globally recognized for their exceptional off-road capability, Patrol vehicles form the foundation of the Patrol NISMO. By integrating motorsport-derived technology and expertise, Nissan has developed a precision SUV that delivers sharp on-road handling and refined track performance.

The NISMO variant features a specially tuned 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, producing 495 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. Enhanced aerodynamics and a sport-tuned suspension allow the Patrol NISMO to deliver immediate response and powerful acceleration, despite its SUV dimensions.

Yutaka Sanada, President and CEO of Nissan Motorsports & Customizing, noted that the new Y63 Patrol NISMO incorporates technologies from the company's motorsport and customization divisions, making it a true embodiment of NMC.
