The Ford Transit has remained largely unchanged since the fourth-generation model debuted in 2014, at least in terms of design. However, the 2026 Ford Transit receives several updates, including an expanded range of versions eligible for the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine. Some 2026 Ford Transit configurations that previously could not be equipped with the 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 engine now can. This applies to all low-roof and medium-roof cargo vans with rear-wheel drive (RWD).Furthermore, the Ambulance Prep package is no longer required to add the EcoBoost engine; it can be purchased separately for the aforementioned versions. It's worth noting that this engine remains standard on Passenger Van XL, Passenger XLT, and T-350 HD trims, as well as on high-roof and all-wheel-drive (AWD) models. The 3.5L EcoBoost engine costs $2,800 for all rear-wheel-drive models and for medium- and high-roof configurations. Regardless of drivetrain, this engine produces 310 horsepower and 540 Nm of torque for the 2026 Ford Transit. It is offered alongside the naturally aspirated 3.5L PFDi V6, which makes 275 horsepower and 340 Nm of torque.
