BMW has given buyers of the new M5 Sedan (G90) and M5 Touring (G99) an unusual option: for the first time, the M Performance Parts package can be specified from the factory. It’s a clean solution for those wary of aftermarket fitment risks—every component is listed in the contract from day one.

The pack, coded 9S1, brings a more assertive aero setup. The M5 Sedan receives a front lip, side skirts, and a two-piece carbon diffuser. To complete the look, buyers need to add the M Carbon Exterior Package (71C) with its carbon roof, mirror caps, and a larger rear spoiler. The Touring stands apart with additional carbon inserts by the rear glass, subtly sharpening the wagon’s sporting profile.

Pricing depends on body style: the sedan upgrade comes to €7,700 plus €3,200 for the carbon package (roughly 760,000 and 315,000 rubles, respectively), while the Touring is €9,000. For now, the option isn’t in the online configurator—it can only be arranged through a dealer.

There are caveats. A tow hitch cannot be fitted, as the tow ball interferes with the diffuser. And some pieces—such as carbon exhaust tips or decorative stickers—remain available only as separate, post-sale accessories.

For the moment, the program is limited to Germany. If demand proves strong, BMW may roll it out to other high-performance models from the M2 to the M4. In essence, the brand is bundling style, practicality, and factory-approved tuning in one neatly packaged offer.
