Genesis has updated the GV60 electric crossover and made it markedly more attainable. The 2027 model will reach the Australian market in summer 2026 with pricing from $88,300, placing it among the key new arrivals in the premium EV segment that year.

What has changed on the new GV60

The headline move is a switch to a single Advanced RWD version with rear-wheel drive. That has cut the price by about $15,000 compared with the previous all-wheel-drive versions. Output has also dropped to 168 kW and 350 Nm, down from as much as 360 kW in earlier flagship variants. The focus, however, has shifted away from outright pace and toward efficiency and accessibility.

Battery and technology

The crossover gets a new 84 kWh battery, lifting WLTP range to 561 km from the previous 470 km. Its 800-volt architecture enables a 10 to 80 percent charge in just 18 minutes.

Inside, there is now a 27-inch OLED display combining the instrument cluster and infotainment functions, along with Digital Key 2.0 with smartphone-based operation.

Genesis says the model now qualifies for tax incentives, making it especially appealing for corporate customers and leasing fleets. A more powerful Magma AWD version is expected later in 2026, bringing back all-wheel drive and a stronger performance focus.

Conclusion

Genesis is changing course: instead of chasing power figures, the brand is leaning into price and practicality. With competition intensifying across the EV market, that approach could prove decisive in the years ahead.
