Toyota has announced one of the rarest recalls on the market: the campaign covers just four 2025 RAV4 crossovers sold in the United States. The reason is a potential welding issue in the front-seat mounting points, identified during a supplier inspection.

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported that the defect affects vehicles produced between November 28 and December 1, 2025. Of the full batch, only four vehicles were sold in the American market.

The issue involves the possible absence of welds in the driver’s seat mounts, which could increase the risk of injury in a crash. The investigation found that interference with a welding robot on the production line was the cause. As a result, some mounting points may not have been made according to the required process.

The defect was discovered during a standard supplier inspection, after which Toyota launched an additional review and confirmed that a recall was necessary.

Despite its minimal scale, the case reflects Toyota’s approach to quality control. Even isolated potential defects can become grounds for an official service campaign.
