BMW is gearing up to bring the updated 2027-model-year iX3 electric crossover to the U.S. market. Unlike the first generation, which never made it stateside, the new iteration is set to be more advanced and to offer a broad palette of personalization.

Among the highlights is a special green interior that hasn’t been officially shown before. It will join the already known Digital White, Castanea, and Black themes. Upholstery options include Veganza (synthetic leather) as well as natural Individual Merino — a confident move likely to appeal to buyers craving a bit more character.

Options extend to a panoramic roof that can be deleted on request, plus a choice of steering wheels, including an M-branded sport wheel for configurations with the M Sport package. Buyers will be able to order heated rear seats and, later on, front-seat ventilation. The ability to skip the glass roof feels like a thoughtful touch for those who prefer a cleaner spec.

The 50 xDrive will arrive first in the U.S., with more attainable variants to follow by 2027: the 40 xDrive at around $55,000 and the rear-wheel-drive 40 sDrive. Taken together, these versions position the iX3 as a serious contender among premium electric crossovers, offering American shoppers a generous range of choices.
