Beijing Hyundai has officially announced a recall of 3,469 Hyundai Custo vehicles from the 2024 model year. The notice appears on the website of China’s State Administration for Market Regulation, where the company filed its plan as required by vehicle safety rules. The recall covers cars built between May 11 and June 24, 2025. An internal production mismatch was identified: on some units, the rear brake lines may have been tightened with insufficient torque at the connection to a four-way connector. In uncommon cases this can diminish braking performance, creating a potential road safety risk. Even if the likelihood is low, anything that compromises stopping power warrants swift corrective action—small assembly deviations can have outsized consequences.Hyundai indicated that owners of affected vehicles will not bear any costs. Dealerships will replace the rear brake pipes and the related connectors, removing the source of the problem. The fix is clear-cut and should help restore driver confidence. The service campaign begins on September 5, 2025. Owners are encouraged to book in advance with authorized service centers to have the work carried out free of charge.
