Nissan has unveiled the first-ever X-Trail Nismo in Japan, with sales scheduled to begin on September 24. Conceived as a «Grand Touring SUV,» the model blends race-inspired technology with everyday usability, staying true to the Nismo philosophy of combining performance and drivability.
The suspension is equipped with Kayaba Swing Valve shock absorbers — a Nissan first — balancing body control and ride comfort, while the specially tuned e-4ORCE all-wheel-drive system improves cornering by increasing rear torque distribution and optimizing steering response. Drive modes adjust acceleration and power delivery to suit different conditions.
The SUV rides on 20-inch Enkei wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires, while Nismo-specific aerodynamics reduce lift by 29% compared to the standard X-Trail. Functional spoilers, diffusers, and dark chrome accents enhance stability and give the SUV a bold stance.
Inside, the X-Trail Nismo features a black-and-red theme with sport accents. Optional Recaro seats with heating and power adjustment provide additional lateral support during cornering. Despite the performance focus, the interior maintains the X-Trail’s practicality and comfort, making it suitable for both spirited driving and daily use.
