The compact crossover, carrying the internal designation U833, could reach the assembly line in 2029. Ford itself, however, hasn’t confirmed the Escape name, body style, or launch timing.

Production of the outgoing Escape and its Lincoln Corsair sibling ended at the Louisville Assembly plant in December 2025. The factory is being retooled at a cost of $2 billion for vehicles built on the new Universal EV architecture.
