Nissan Leaf Nismo 2026: prices, Recaro option and what changed

The surcharge for the Nismo badge turned out to be identical regardless of battery size. The Nissan Leaf B5 Nismo costs 952,600 yen more than a standard B5 G, and the exact same gap separates the B7 Nismo from the B7 G. Sales of the sporty version began in Japan on July 22, 2026 — roughly half a year after the third-generation Leaf reached the local market, which had already received an earlier premium special edition, the Leaf AUTECH B5.

The Leaf B5 Nismo is priced at 6,601,100 yen — about $40,600, or roughly €35,300. The B7 Nismo costs 6,952,000 yen — about $42,800, or roughly €37,200. The B7 with Recaro front seats commands 7,227,000 yen: about $44,500, or roughly €38,700. These are recommended Japanese prices including tax, excluding any costs of importing the car to another country.

The 952,600-yen premium works out to roughly 16.9% of the B5 G’s price and 15.9% of the B7 G’s. Another 275,000 yen — about $1,700, or roughly €1,500 — covers the Recaro-equipped trim. The Leaf Nismo hasn’t turned into a dual-motor EV, though: all three versions remain front-wheel drive.

The main changes are concentrated in the chassis. Nissan retuned the springs, anti-roll bars and some of the subframe bushings, fitted dampers with extra valves, and added 19-inch Enkei wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires. Each wheel is one kilogram lighter than the standard item. There are now also four levels of regenerative braking adjustable via paddle shifters, plus separate tuning for the Nismo, Standard and Eco modes.

Aerodynamic elements increase downforce without raising the car’s claimed drag coefficient. However, Nissan’s launch announcement made no mention of a power increase or an all-wheel-drive option. The next thing to watch for is the detailed spec sheet, which will show how the sport tires and aerodynamics affected the B5 and B7’s range.
