Porsche 911 Carrera S MT Package 2027: Price, Specs and Manual Gearbox

Porsche has made an unexpected move in the era of fast dual-clutch “robots”: the 911 Carrera S can once again be ordered with a manual gearbox. The six-speed MT joins the lineup as a special MT Package, offered exclusively for North America. Orders are open now, with first deliveries expected before the end of 2026.

The coupe starts at $167,100, the cabriolet at $181,000. And the manual here isn’t a way to save money: the standard 2027 Carrera S with the eight-speed PDK starts at $156,200. That puts the MT Package at a $10,900 premium. For the Cabriolet, the gap is the same: $181,000 versus $170,100.

There’s another twist. The manual car is slower than the automatic: the coupe needs about 3.9 seconds to reach 60 mph, versus 3.3 seconds for the Carrera S with PDK. Output is identical — 473 hp from the 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six — and top speed comes in at roughly 191 mph.

The premium comes from a longer standard equipment list. The MT Package adds rear-axle steering, a PASM Sport suspension lowered by 10 mm, Sport Chrono, unique exhaust tuning and center-lock wheels — a first for the Carrera S. Those wheels save more than 17 lbs. Drive is rear-wheel only, and the six-speed gearbox itself is shared with the Carrera T. Coupe curb weight comes in at around 3,327 lbs.

In other words, Porsche isn’t selling the manual Carrera S as a cheaper alternative to PDK, but as a separate variant for drivers willing to give up six tenths of a second off the line in exchange for a clutch pedal and a stick. And for now, Porsche is keeping that choice exclusive to North American buyers.
