Audi Nuvolari 2026: US Debut, Specs and European Order Timeline

The 1,001-hp Audi Nuvolari has driven on US roads for the first time, appearing at Monterey Car Week ahead of European order books opening in Q4 2026.

Audi has taken the next step from a splashy debut to the open road: the 1,001-hp Nuvolari has made its first appearance on American streets. During Monterey Car Week, the pre-production supercar drove along the California coast near Carmel-by-the-Sea. For the model, this marks the third major milestone after its world premiere on June 4 in France and its first public outing at the Monaco Grand Prix.

According to Audi, the Nuvolari produces 1,001 PS (736 kW) and can accelerate beyond 350 km/h (217 mph). It sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in 6.8 seconds. The car shown is still officially classified by the manufacturer as a “pre-production prototype,” though Audi already calls the Nuvolari the most powerful and fastest production car in its history.

Production will be capped at 499 units. European order books are set to open in the fourth quarter of 2026, with the first customer cars arriving in the first half of 2027. Pricing has not yet been officially announced. The original unveiling already revealed the model’s key technical details: the Nuvolari gets a hybrid system with a V8 and three electric motors.

The American showing matters for another reason too. Just 17 days earlier, Audi unveiled the large Q9 in New York, tailored specifically to American buyers. The Nuvolari serves a different purpose: it is the brand’s technological and design flagship, the car through which the company signals where the whole marque is headed. Audi is already shifting its new models toward a more “monolithic” design philosophy, and the Nuvolari is the first production car to embody that new stylistic direction.

So the California outing is not a new reveal for the Nuvolari and does not change its specifications. It marks the project’s move into its next stage: the car is already being shown to prospective buyers at one of the world’s biggest events for collectible, high-end cars, while European orders are still a few months away from opening.
