Kia EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV5 GT: prices, power and WLTP range

Kia has launched the EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV5 GT on the European market at the same time. The cars were only displayed at the Brussels motor show in January, but on September 7 the manufacturer announced a new stage: all three performance versions are now available to European buyers.

The formula is shared across the trio: two electric motors, all-wheel drive, GT mode, electronically controlled suspension, Virtual Gear Shift and Active Sound Design. The EV3 GT and EV4 GT each produce 215 kW, or 292 hp, and 468 Nm. The first accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds, while the second takes 5.6 seconds. The EV5 GT is more powerful at 225 kW, or 306 hp, and 480 Nm, although its 0-100 km/h time is 6.2 seconds.

Range also differs. The EV3 GT uses an 81.4 kWh battery and can travel up to 501 km on the WLTP cycle, the EV4 GT up to 505 km, and the EV5 GT up to 476 km. The latter targets a larger family-oriented format and additionally gets Pet Mode, which maintains a set cabin temperature when an animal is left in the car for a short time.

The price gap between the three GT models in Germany is relatively small. The EV3 GT starts at €53,990, the EV4 GT at €57,840 and the EV5 GT at €59,990.

Kia has now scaled the same recipe across three vehicle classes. VGS does not change any real gear ratios; instead, it uses software to simulate the operation of a stepped transmission and works together with synthetic sound — an approach that is becoming a distinct trend among fast electric cars.

Following the European launch of the EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV5 GT, Kia’s electric performance family now counts five models together with the EV6 GT and EV9 GT.
