Renault Megane E-Tech: price, 67-kWh LFP battery and 494 km WLTP range

€34 990 is now the price of the Renault Megane E-Tech Techno 220 Comfort Range in Germany. The Esprit Alpine is priced at €37 990. The German market provides a fresh reason to revisit the model: Renault has published the final prices and specifications for the production version of the updated electric car. Official Renault data lists a range of up to 494 km WLTP.

This is an important clarification compared with the first reports about the update. In the summer, the Megane E-Tech had already appeared with a 67-kWh LFP battery and a range of up to 501 km, but the current German production specification settles on 494 km. The hardware has not become weaker: the motor produces 160 kW, or 218 hp, and 300 Nm, while peak DC charging power reaches 165 kW.

The battery charges from 15 to 80% in around 24 minutes, about a quarter faster than the previous version. The standard AC charger is rated at 11 kW and supports bidirectional charging, while a 22-kW unit is available at extra cost. A heat pump and battery preconditioning before fast charging are also standard. Official German figures confirm consumption of 16.5 kWh/100 km and the same 494 km WLTP range.

At the same time, Renault has largely removed the dilemma over powertrain choice: there is now one battery, one 218-hp motor and just two trim levels — Techno and Esprit Alpine. The cabin retains OpenR Link with a 12-inch display and Google services, while Google Gemini is set to replace Assistant after a software update. The boot holds 440 litres.

The move to LFP is gradually becoming part of Renault's broader strategy for more affordable electric cars. A few days after the Megane, a similar discussion emerged around the Renault 5, for which 44- and 56-kWh LFP packs are being discussed, although those two capacities have not yet been officially confirmed for the R5.
