The 2026 BMW 7 Series arrives without major changes, as the brand keeps the current G70 architecture in place ahead of a comprehensive refresh in 2027. It feels like a deliberate pause before the next big step. This is the last chance to buy the sedan in its present form: production of MY26 is already underway and will continue through July of next year.

The lineup includes the 740i and 740i xDrive with a 375-hp inline-six, the 750e plug-in hybrid rated at 483 hp, and the flagship 760i xDrive with a 4.4-liter V8 delivering 536 hp and 553 N·m. The run to 100 km/h takes 4.1 seconds—slightly off the pace of the former V12, yet the performance still convinces.

The hybrid returns 70 MPGe and offers up to 35 miles of electric driving, while the 740i remains economical at 7.8–9.0 l/100 km.

Inside, the 7 Series still sets the benchmark for comfort. Even the base version features plush Veganza upholstery, optional Merino leather, massage and ventilated seats, and the iDrive 8.5 system with a 31-inch rear Theater Screen.

Base pricing rises by $2,000—starting at $99,300 for the 740i and reaching $124,700 for the 760i. The 2027 refresh is expected to bring redesigned lighting, new tech, and possibly the removal of the traditional iDrive controller. Until then, the 2026 car remains the choice for those who value proven comfort and BMW’s classic sense of pace—stability over novelty, and a driving experience that feels reassuringly familiar.
