Ford has rolled out a fully overhauled mobile app, now simply called Ford instead of FordPass. The update brings a fresh interface, smarter tools for owners of electric and plug-in hybrid models, and a reworked notification system. The cleaner name complements the streamlined approach throughout the app.

The headline addition is the Climate section, which lets you adjust cabin temperature right from the home screen and switch on heated seats or the steering wheel. The Energy section now pulls together charging info, including current state of charge, a charging schedule, and a planned departure time.

Drivers who manage more than one vehicle can assign names to each, making it easier to spot active connections at a glance. Notifications have also been reorganized, with important alerts surfacing at the top of the list—a small tweak that makes everyday use more straightforward and adds a dose of reassurance.

The updated app is available globally: version 6.0.0 has arrived on iOS (with 6.1.0 delivering bug fixes), and the Android release landed on October 23.

Crucially, the familiar FordPass capabilities remain: lock and unlock via widgets, Apple Watch support, scheduling for updates, and even a dark theme—though, for now, that last one is limited to iPhone users. Keeping those staples intact should make the transition smooth for longtime owners.
