Mercedes-Maybach has unveiled the V12 Edition, a limited-run showcase of engineering finesse and handcraft. Only 50 cars will be built, each based on the S 680. The edition honors a century of V12 tradition, blending power and elegance while staying true to the brand’s ethos of offering only the very best. The brand’s press office shared the news exclusively with SPEEDME.RU.

It comes across as a contemporary reimagining of the legendary Maybach Zeppelin, the model line that launched the marque’s story. Under the hood is a 6.0-liter 12-cylinder engine with 612 hp and 900 N·m of torque. The sprint to 100 km/h takes 4.5 seconds, and top speed is limited to 250 km/h. The figures speak with the quiet confidence expected at this level.

The exterior wears a distinctive two-tone finish: MANUFAKTUR Olive Metallic paired with Obsidian Black Metallic. Applying the paint takes up to 10 days. An emblem with a 24-carat gold 12 medallion and special wheels underline the model’s standing without tipping into excess.

Inside, Saddle Brown nappa leather is matched with Brown Burr Walnut veneer, and handcrafting the cabin takes up to seven days. Silver goblets by Robbe & Berking, individualized stitching, and a 1 of 50 emblem add the kind of detail that feels considered rather than decorative.

The Mercedes-Maybach V12 Edition reads as more than a car. It connects old-school tradition with modern technology, a reminder that even at the summit of luxury there is still room for artistry and a bit of soul.
