At the Guangzhou Auto Show, Kia unveiled the EV5 Weekender to the world—a concept take on the crossover shaped for travel and outdoor pursuits. The newcomer becomes the fourth entry in the Weekender line and brings a package of tweaks aimed at confident progress both in the city and beyond.Compared with the standard EV5, the concept leans into a bolder look: pinpoint LED elements replace the former full-width tail lamps, the bumpers are more substantial, and chunkier cladding with enlarged arches pushes the crossover toward a more outdoorsy stance. Ground clearance is up, it rides on 20-inch all-terrain tires, and there are retractable towing eyes front and rear. Rounding it out are a functional roof rack and mounts on the rear side windows for small tools. The cabin is finished in Spruce Blue with vivid accents and uses eco-minded BIO PU materials. Inside you’ll find a wide movable instrument panel, signature camping lighting, a built-in radio and a pair of binoculars. The seats are easy to remove and fold, and the tailgate doubles as a camp table. There is also a one-touch mode that automatically plots routes, suggests charging stops, and points out promising places to pause in nature—an approach that fits the brief and makes the concept feel thoughtfully curated for weekends away.
