Volkswagen has partially revealed the interior of the new electric ID. Polo, set to be one of the brand’s key models in the 2026 lineup. For the first time, the production cabin has been shown without concept-only flourishes, close to what will land in showrooms in the coming months.

The cabin follows a minimalist theme with a focus on digital tech. Drivers get a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13-inch central multimedia display with broad personalization options. Separate physical buttons are retained for climate control and the hazard lights — a welcome nod to usability.

Volkswagen has used recycled and eco-friendly materials for the dashboard, door panels, and seats, making the ID. Polo more sustainable in terms of its carbon footprint. The direction feels well-judged for a modern EV.

A standout touch is an instrument display mode informally nicknamed the “secret sauce.” With a single button press, the digital cluster switches to a theme inspired by the first-generation Golf — a neat slice of brand nostalgia that lands without feeling gimmicky.

The model will also be the first from the brand with an updated Travel Assist that operates not only on highways but also in the city, recognizing traffic lights and stop signs. There is one-pedal driving, and an optional Harman Kardon audio system is available. Expanding assistance into urban use is where many drivers are likely to feel the biggest day-to-day benefit.

The exact premiere date for the ID. Polo has not been announced, but Volkswagen confirms the official debut will take place no later than spring 2026.
