Simply Sports Cars, the official Lotus distributor in Australia, has unveiled the most powerful gasoline version of the brand's model: the Emira Turbo Bathurst Edition. This is not a factory development; the special edition was created locally and is limited to 15 units, each intended for the Australian market. The modification uses the AMG M139 engine—a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder boosted to 503 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. That's 103 horsepower and 120 Nm more than the base Emira SE produces, making the Bathurst Edition more powerful than all gasoline-powered Lotus models, including V6 versions and even the racing GT4. Power goes to the rear wheels via a reinforced 8-speed DCT and updated ESP settings. The suspension has been reworked, featuring three-way adjustable dampers from Modal Suspension, a lowered stance, and revised chassis geometry. It rides on 20-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. The braking system uses four-piston AP Racing calipers and two-piece ventilated discs.Aerodynamic enhancements include a fixed rear wing with swan-neck mounting and a carbon fiber front splitter. The design is complemented by a Bathurst racing livery and an individual plaque for each of the 15 cars.Priced at AU$249,990, this represents a AU$50,000 premium over the standard Emira Turbo. Buyers will receive complimentary entry to a Lotus track day at the legendary Bathurst circuit in 2027.
