Ford is officially launching a supercharger kit from Ford Performance for all 2026 models with the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 Coyote engine, including the F-150, Mustang GT, and Mustang Dark Horse.

For the F-150, this boosts power from 400 to 700 horsepower, with torque reaching 800 Nm. That surpasses the F-150 Raptor's 3.5 EcoBoost at 450 horsepower and comes close to the Raptor R's 720-horsepower 5.2 V8.

The Mustang with an active exhaust system develops up to 810 horsepower. Even without it, output drops by only 10 horsepower. By comparison, the previous-generation Shelby GT500 produced 760 horsepower.

A key advantage over aftermarket tuning is factory support. The supercharger kit comes with a separate 3-year or 57,600 km warranty and does not void the vehicle's base warranty when installed through a dealer. Buyers can order a car already equipped with the supercharger directly from an authorized dealer.

Strategically, this move signals Ford's intent to retain V8 enthusiasts amid the shift to electrification. While investing in electric and hybrid vehicles, the company is also strengthening the muscle and sport truck niche by offering official ways to increase power without losing warranty coverage. This creates a new format—a semi-factory performance segment where customers get near-tuning-level output but with corporate backing.

As environmental regulations tighten, solutions like this could represent some of the last major upgrades for naturally aspirated V8s, turning the 5.0 Coyote into one of the final symbols of the classic American engine era.
