Ram is introducing a new version of the ProMaster City to the US market—a mid-size commercial van designed to fill the gap between the larger ProMaster and the now-unavailable Mercedes Metris. Built on the European K0 platform shared with models like the Citroën Jumpy, Peugeot Expert, Toyota Proace, and Opel Vivaro, the van features a unique front-end design with a closed grille and fresh RAM badging.

Measuring 5.33 meters long with a 3.28-meter wheelbase and standing 1.95 meters tall, the ProMaster City fits comfortably into standard garages and parking spaces. Its cargo area offers 167.1 cubic feet of volume, enough to carry 4x8-foot sheet materials—a rarity in the mid-size segment. A wide sliding door and rear swing doors simplify loading, while side and panel variations allow for up to 11 different configurations.

The cabin is practical yet modern, featuring a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated front seats, durable Curtiba Grey upholstery, push-button start, a rearview camera, and a suite of driver assists including automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, driver fatigue monitoring, and ParkSense sensors.

Under the hood, the ProMaster City gets a new turbocharged 1.6-liter engine producing 166 horsepower and 299 Nm of torque. Though smaller in displacement, it delivers noticeably more pull than the old naturally aspirated 2.4-liter unit. Power goes to the front wheels through an eight-speed Aisin automatic transmission. Payload capacity is expected to exceed 900 kg, with towing rated up to 900 kg as well.

Production will take place in Turkey, with sales set to begin in early 2027. At an estimated starting price below $40,000, the ProMaster City is positioned to become the most affordable commercial van in the US market.
